Why finance recruiters never respond to your LinkedIn messages.

You have sent 20 messages. Heard back from two. Here is the real reason why.

You have sent the messages. You have optimized your profile. You have followed the advice you found online. And still, silence. Most people assume it is personal. It is not.

The volume problem

Finance and tech recruiters receive dozens, sometimes hundreds of unsolicited messages every week. Most of them look identical. There is nothing wrong with those messages, but there is nothing that makes them stand out either. Recruiters are not ignoring you because you are not qualified. They are ignoring you because their inbox has no system for handling unsolicited outreach. Your message arrived at the wrong moment, on a busy day, and got buried under everything else.

The timing problem

A recruiter only responds when they have an open role that matches your profile. If there is no active search when your message arrives, there is no reason to respond. It is not personal. It is logistics. Most recruiters do not keep a mental list of every candidate who reached out. When a role opens up, they search their existing database and networks. If you are not already in their database, you are invisible at the moment that matters most.

The format problem

Most unsolicited messages say the same thing in the same way. They open with a generic introduction, mention a field of interest, and ask to connect. Nothing about the message signals that this particular candidate is worth a conversation right now. Recruiters scan messages quickly. If the first line does not immediately signal relevance, the message gets skipped.

What this means for candidates

The problem is not your qualifications. It is not your profile. It is not even your message. The problem is that cold outreach puts all the timing risk on you. You are hoping to arrive in the right inbox at the right moment with the right message. The odds are not in your favor. Being findable when a recruiter is actively searching is a fundamentally different approach. Instead of sending messages and waiting for responses, your profile is already there when the search begins. That is exactly what Hirematez is built for.
